Whew. I am so glad that afternoon is over. In fact, I am glad the last two days are over. I didn’t know that you could have two terrible, horrible, no good, very bad days in a row. But that all came to an end last night when I headed out of the house and went (denying my inward inclinations to stay at home) to one of the neatest bible studies I have ever been to. It’s called Firm Foundations and it is a chronological study from creation to Christ. Here is the little blurb from their site:
A steadfast faith is built on the firm foundation of God’s Word. For decades, this pattern of teaching has helped men and women around the world gain a clear understanding of God, man’s relationship with Him, and the grace He has made freely available through the death of His Son. Many teachers have successfully used these lessons from the previous version in churches, classroom and small groups.
Firm Foundations: Creation to Christ presents in order key teachings about:
- God’s nature and character
- Man’s sinful state and separation from God
- God’s grace, presence and activity through history
- Christ as the promised Redeemer
Moving from Genesis through the life of Christ, your students will see God’s plan of redemption unfold. They’ll follow God’s pattern of progressively revealing His character.
I believe that at anytime I would have seen this study and been blessed, but right now, at this time in my life, it is an answer to prayer. A quick answer to prayer. I am not at liberty to share the details, but recently God brought something into my life that absolutely impressed upon me the need to teach my children how to share the gospel in exactly this way! When the notebooks were handed out and I realized what it was, I was floored! God is so good.
ps. Do I think that someone was trying to get me not to go? Without a doubt!
